Compani - A Pet-Friendly Pop-Up Cafe Brand

The Challenge
How do you design a cafe brand that feels welcoming to both humans and their pets—without becoming gimmicky or overly childish? Compani needed to strike a delicate balance: playful yet elevated, whimsical yet cohesive, emotionally warm yet visually bold. The challenge was to build an immersive brand world that celebrated companionship while maintaining strong design integrity and scalability across touchpoints.

Strategy
At its core, Compani is about shared moments. The strategy centered around emotional storytelling—positioning pets not as accessories, but as equal guests in the cafe experience.

Visual Identity
The identity is built on a bold yet nostalgic color system featuring creamsicle orange, soft pink, sky blue, and warm neutrals—creating a joyful, retro-modern atmosphere. The custom wordmark incorporates subtle pet-inspired details, blending character and typography seamlessly.

Design
The project expanded beyond branding into experience design. A fully realized 3D pop-up cafe concept was developed to showcase how the identity lives in space—from signage and counters to seating moments where humans and pets share the table. Playful menu naming (Puppuccino, Mewcchiato, Spaghootie & Meatballs) reinforced the brand’s personality, while curated lifestyle scenes demonstrated how Compani would function as a social-first, highly shareable destination.
